On November 14, 2017, Clarivate Analytics published the 2017 Highly Cited Researchers, based on citation statistics from the Web of Science (https://webofknowledge.com/). Each of these researchers has published a high number of papers that rank in the top 1% most-cited in his/her fields over a recent 11-year period, and they are thus referred as “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” (https://clarivate.com/hcr/worlds-influential-scientific-minds/). Xindong Wu, Alfred and Helen Lamson Endowed Professor in Computer Science, in the School of Computing and Informatics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette made this distinguished researcher list.

Among all these highly cited researchers (published at https://clarivate.com/hcr/2017-researchers-list/), there are 3 from the State of Louisiana. One is in Clinical Medicine (from Heart Clin Louisiana), one is in Social Sciences (from LSU), and Professor Wu is listed in both Engineering and Computer Science.
